Anderson has created extensive Web content for patients and their
loved ones. The Diseases and Related Topics menu located at the top
right of every page receives the most use. This menu will take users
to specific pages with information surrounding a disease or topic.
Information includes treatment and research news, how to find
support, and various other resources of interest.
In the Patients and Public section of the site, visitors will find
content about how to get to
M. D. Anderson and the Texas Medical Center, what to expect, cancer
prevention, support groups, a virtual tour, and more.
The About M. D. Anderson section provides information about the
latest news and events, our history and mission, how to volunteer or
make a gift to the institution, how to donate blood, and even how to
apply for various career opportunities.
Additionally, CancerWise (www.cancerwise.org) is an award-winning
monthly email and Website primarily for patients, linking them to
the latest advances in cancer treatment and research, listing
support programs and activities, and providing cancer prevention
tips.
myMDAnderson for Patients (https://mymdanderson.org) is a secure,
personalized Website that supports patient care. Popular features
include an interactive appointment schedule; patient education
materials tailored to each patient's diagnosis and treatment plan;
and secure messaging, an on-line communications tool that allows
patients and clinic staff to exchange private messages without the
privacy risks of Internet email.
